hi,

we are usign JSF in our application. we use the IBm implementation of JSF jars. When we tried to integrate the icefaces into our application. we got exceptions. so, we tried to remove the IBM jars and replcae them with SUN's implementation. we use RAD IDE and Websphere 6.0 server in our project. Also, our JSF version 1.0. Could you please help us in this issue? Should we do any more changes to get this icefaces integrated to our project and make it successfully work? Please help ASAP.

I'm still a bit of an IceFaces noob, but I have been dealing with a conversion of raw JSF to IceFaces recently.

Remember that the IceFaces components use a fundamentally different renderer than most JSF libraries, the Direct to DOM renderer. That may not work with your existing JSF pages correctly. Ideally, you would refactor all of your webpages to IceFaces but if that's not possible, take a look at the Just-Ice.jar.

The Just-Ice.jar replaces your normal IceFaces jar and basically makes the D2D renderer play a little nicer with other JSF libaries. I use the JSF RI implementation with the JustIce.jar on my prototype at work.

Hope this helps or at least sends you on the right path.

If you getting the error like class not found or class loader not found, then change the class loading opion to PARENT_LAST.

hi,

Our application server is Websphere V6.0. will icefaces be compatible in this environment or should we upgrade our server to websphere V6.0.2? Because i read in the release notes that it supports only Websphere V6.0.2 or V6.1. Please help us. we are in urgent need for integrating icefaces to our application. we are using JSF 1.1, JSP 2.0 and Java 1.4. will just-ice.jar help us in integrating the icefaces to certain pages alone?

Just-ice.jar helped us, so hopefully it will help you guys out as well. You should probably check http://www.icesoft.com/developer_guides/icefaces/htmlguide/devguide/keyConcepts12.html to see if it will help you any.
