I am using Icefaces NetBeans Plug-in inside NetBeans IDE. I created a sample webapplication using ICEface Visual Web Framework. Then I just dragged and drop some components to create my page. Now I can deploy and see the output. It rocks :)
Then I tried to convert this web app to a portlet.
- Added required entry in portlet.xml
- set the "concurrentDOMViews" to true in web.xml
But then I added <ice:portlet> tag which is wrapping all my icefaces components. I can now deploy this portlet and see the output. (Though all of the components in my iceface portlet are misplaced through out the page)
Also in NetBeans, I am getting "Missing Body" error inside "Design" view of the jsp page. So WYSIWYG editor is not working after adding <ice:portlet> tag.
So my questions are
1> How to show the icefaces components properly inside a portlet ?
2> How to use the WYSIWYG after converting the application as portlet ?
Run time should work fine, Try to use a standard web project to implement ...
For visual web project, Portlet support is not in place yet.
for example, the standard web project is used in developing Portlet App, no integration efforts for including all dependencies from Visual Web Project.
Any progress here? I looks like this was requested awhile ago and was a high priority. I have tried the latest netbeans integration from Mrach 23rd but this is still not there. Portlet support will be key for many I believe.
