I notice that both Woodstock and Icefaces use a jar called dataprovider.jar for table support. Will the IceFaces version of this jar work for pages containing Woodstock tables? Or is it not possible to have both Woodstock and Icefaces tables (on different pages) in the same app?

Woodstock TableRowGroup has dependencies on dataprovider.jar.
ICEfaces using dataprovider.jar as data model provider. not compile-time dependencies.

Woodstock and ICEfaces table on different pages in the same application should work fine. This will be further improve in the coming 1.8 release as well.

I had understood that dataprovider.jar was a required runtime jar for Woodstock tables. And it sounds like from your response that it is a required runtime jar for IceFaces as well. If these are both true wouldn't there be a conflict if these jars are different?

yes, it is part of run-time dependencies for Visual Web project particularly since the auto generated binding and generated code etc...but if using JPA and back bean, it is not required.

Ok - so if I am doing a manual transition (not using the visual project) I should be able to run with my Woodstock dataprovider.jar for my Woodstock tables and still be able to create IceFaces tables on other pages.

Do I understand you correctly?
