hi,

I'm looking for a way to include pages dynamicaly, I used to do it with c:import (jstl) then I did Icefaces, didn't work anymore, then I used
<'jsp:directive.include 'file="${sessionScope.ModuleBean.pageToInclude}" />
wich only works with static pages like banner and stuff...
does anyone have an id to do this right?

Static includes are currently the recommended way to perform includes with ICEfaces. For dynamic portions of the page, you may want to activate and de-activate them with the "rendered" flag. If this workaround is not suitable, please describe your application further and we will offer additional techniques.

The reason for this limitation is that ICEfaces parses JSP pages directly (to solve the ordering problems with static text and JSF components) and does not implement the full set of standard JSP tags. Text ordering has been resolved in JSF 1.2, so ICEfaces is expected to support dynamic inclusion when it is fully integrated with JSF 1.2 and JSF 1.2 is released.

I don't understand your rendering method, I attached the jsp file so that you can see where I'm going with it.
and maybe you'll have another solution

I'm really in deep s***, I have to get over this to continue my work...

Thx in advance

How do the files referred to by ModuleBean.pageToInclude differ from each other?

Could you create an index JSP that forwarded to a specific (and variable) ICEfaces page?

ICEfaces cannot process the ${} expression language in the jsp:directive.

When will JSF 1.2 be released and the follow on ICEfaces update be released? Dynamic includes are an important part of our content model. Thanks.

JSF 1.2 has been released as part of Java EE 5:

http://java.sun.com/javaee/sdk/features.jsp

Many new features in JSF 1.2 are well-aligned with ICEfaces, but we haven't finished evaluating the complexity of the integration (currently ICEfaces parses JSP pages directly; improvements in static text handling in JSF 1.2/JSP 2.1 should allow us to dispense with this). So, our official date places JSF 1.2 support into next year, but sufficient community interest could increase the priority and bring it in sooner.
