Hi all

Could you please assist me with this problem? I have a main page which allows a user to propagate a search, which in turn displays the search results in a dynamic include via a panel stack. The main page backing bean controls the selected panel. When the user updates the include, such as display the next set of search results using a paginator(located within the include), the include re-renders and is updated. Perfect !

However when the user wishes to perform a new search propagated from the parent container, the include is displayed but is not refreshed. This is occurring I assume because the init() method in the include backing bean is not being called after the first time it has been rendered.

So…..

Do I need a RenderManger to initiate the include each time a user wishes to perform a new search?

or

Do I use Spring resource injection to supply a navigation Bean to all includes?

Am I on the right track here?

Cheers

It is hard to tell without a concrete example, Could you attach a sample to show the include page not updated?

Hi Frank, Thanks for your interest.

Thankfully I was able to find a workaround for this problem without the use of the RenderManger, SessionRender, PersistentFacesServlet or Spring injection. The "solution" is also included in the demo.

I am using the standard ICEFaces Netbeans New Project Wizard.
- Netbeans 6.5
- Visual Web ICEFaces Run-Time 1.7.2
- Glassfish v2.1

I would be keen to know if there was another way of doin this.

Cheers
Wayne

Using my local RC1 NB6.5 bundle, tried in 1.8.0RC1 , it works fine. the work around looks fine as well.
