I have a portlet using icefaces 1.7.2-SP2 and works fine. I have updated icefaces to 1.8-RC1 version by changing icefaces.jar, icefaces-comps.jar and icefaces-facelets.jar. And noy I'm getting this error:
Code:
  Client side state saving is not supported with ICEfaces

Can anybody help me with this?
Thanks

Ok I answer myself.
In web.xml I must add this code
Code:
 <context-param>
 	<param-name>javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD</param-name>
 	<param-value>server</param-value>
 </context-param>

That is correct. Currently, only server-side state saving is supported with ICEfaces so you need have the context parameter set to server. You can also leave it out entirely as JSF always defaults to server.

Hi,

Please do not post to old threads (this is from 2009!).

ICEfaces does not support Client Side State-saving, so you need to use server side state-saving:

Code:
<context-param>
     <param-name>javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD</param-name>
     <param-value>server</param-value>
 </context-param>
