I want to set the values of dropdown list items from oracle database table.
To achieve this goal i dragged required table from the menu and released on dropdown.
The message i am getting is "Target server does not support automatic data source creation"

In the next window i was asked to choose the target and i chose the dropdown.
Now when i right click on the dropdown and chose "Bind to data" contrary to my expectation i did not see anything
in the "data provider dropdown" and hence i am unable to achieve the aim.
I am using visual web icefaces as framework.
Please conside this request as urgent. An early reply will be highly appreciated !

Shall I use Java Persistence API ??

"Target server does not support automatic data source creation"

the above message seems that you have not set up a Oracle New Database Connection ?

yes, using JPA instead.

I have set up a oracle databse connection and can see the tables i had created through SQL plus. What new oracle connection you are suggesting ? kindly elaborate. Can i get a tutorial or steps to do these data binding ? what is your opinion about using JPA,i went through a tutorial and found i need to create a java application also in order to use JPA in visual web project.

Thanks in advance !
