I did use the global messages,
- when I use Button to sumit the search and if doen't return anything then it produce messages.
- when I use Enter Key and it's use the javaScript for search then it does not show messages allways.
If anyone know why???/

I had the same problem, but I have found one way to solve it. So my situation:

Before:
Code:
<f:view xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
         xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"
         xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
         xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
         xmlns:ice="http://www.icesoft.com/icefaces/component">
     <html>
         <ui:composition template="/view/layout/maintemplate.jspx" >
             <ui:define name="left"></ui:define>
             <ui:define name="errors">
                 <ui:include src="/view/layout/errors.jspx" />
             </ui:define>
             <ui:define name="content">
                 <ui:include src="/view/frames/order_form_frame.jspx"/>
             </ui:define>
         </ui:composition>
     </html>
 </f:view>

After:
Code:
<f:view xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
         xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"
         xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
         xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
         xmlns:ice="http://www.icesoft.com/icefaces/component">
     <html>
         <ui:composition template="/view/layout/maintemplate.jspx" >
             <ui:define name="left"></ui:define>
             <ui:define name="content">
                 <ui:include src="/view/layout/errors.jspx" />
                 <ui:include src="/view/frames/order_form_frame.jspx"/>
             </ui:define>
         </ui:composition>
     </html>
 </f:view>

I work with order's form within order_form_frame.jspx. After all data have been entered, press submit button....On server-side check all business-rule - if something wrong generate global error message and send it to the client. With my first variant hi will see nothing and second variant works fine without any additional conditions.

I suppose that problem is somehow connected with facelet usage

Hi everyone,

are there any news on this topic? I am getting these error messages, too. But I noticed that the mentioned JIRA issue is still unresolved.

Depending on what you are using to create your FacesMessage(s), this hasn't been an "error" (which is why the jira is not resolved-> lower priority). The server log can give you an Warning that the messages have been enqueued but not displayed, but it has been our experience that they are actually displayed. If you are a Seam/Hibernate user, it could possibly be due to the format of the FacesMessage(s), but you will find that they are indeed displayed. If not, try placing the <ice:messages> tag at the bottom of your view page to ensure they are resolved before being rendered.

If you have an issue where they are not actually being displayed, then please comment on the jira and provide the particulars. (if this is really an issue with you, please vote on the jira to give it extra weight for resolution).

In my case the error is not displayed. What can be the reason, actually page itself is not refreshed. whereas i can see the same error in the log files.

Code:
INFO: WARNING: FacesMessage(s) have been enqueued, but may not have been displayed

I am using Icefaces 1.7.0 and tomcat 6 if that makes a difference.

Thanks,
Rahul

Sometimes this message will be displayed if you set the message to a nonexistant property/field. I had the same issue and found out that the error message was being set to a non existing field name.

Have <ice:messages/> @ the top of the page where messages shld be displaed and <ice:messages visible="false"/>@ very bottom of page.
