I'm developing one home broker application with icefaces using it's ajax push feature.
I'm a little concerned about the scalability of this application. The architecture of icefaces with the Direct-to-DOM mechanism using server side mirrored DOM made me think about memory consumption on server for 5000+ users.
I saw the ICEpack offer that talks about load test in ajax push applications, but right now it isn't an option for me. And I already tried to figure out how to test ajax push feature (JMeter, HtmlUnit,...), but do not suceeded.
So I'm here to get some input from the community. Have anyone already developed applications with ajax push for this load? There is anything that we must be aware? Can anyone share some insights?
Another think that I'm worring about is the frequency of stock quote updates, there are 3 messages / sec on average, I mean, 3 partial screen updates / sec, this is much?
Thanks in advance for any information,
