Hello,

I've just downloaded Icefaces 2.0 Alpha 3.
I am looking to add in my web page (a JSF 2.0 one) a file upload component.

However, I do not know how to do that. I can't find entries in the 2.0 documentation about this component. The component is described in 1.8, mentionning the need of commons-fileupload.jar on the classpath.

Shall I follow the same 1.8 rules to make the version 2.0 working?
Else, what is the way to add a file upload component in a JSF 2.0 web page?

Regards,

Grunt.

I think the file upload component is not available yet. Please check the release information.

I am reading release notes and I can't figure what is available or not.

I am reading documentation and I don't see the way IceFaces 2 is used.

With the auction.xhtml file delivered in the samples directory that declares a xmlns:ice namespace but doesn't seem to use it, I see no xhtml file describing how a ice component is invoked. I see Servlet definitions in web.xml file, and a Core API depicted by a quite useless Javadoc (having packages, classes and function without any comment describing their goals or parameters: what is the help of such Javadoc that provides... no documentation?).

I am unable to know if components are used the old way:

<ice:theComponent attr1="..." attr2="..." />,
with their attributes taken from 1.8 documentation, or if their attributes have changed in version 2.

I guess I just don't know where is the accurate doucmentation for version 2.0.
Where is it?

Grunt.

Read the 1.8.x compatibility section of this document. http://wiki.icefaces.org/display/ICE/ICEfaces-2.0.0-Alpha3+Release+Notes

The component showcase application is included in the Alpha3 download. Have a look at compat/samples.

This is a very good news. I make a try immediately.

Thanks!

EDIT: Arggghhhhhh!!!!!

"The following ICEfaces 1.8.2 Component Suite components are deprecated for ICEfaces 2.0 and are not functional.

* ice:inputFile (An all-new input file component is planned as a replacement to be provided in the next release)
* ice:outputDeclaration (use Facelets standard approach / "<DOCTYPE ...>" instead)
* ice:outputBody (use h:body instead)
* ice:outputHead (use h:head instead)
* ice:outputHtml (use <HTML> tag instead)"
