I'm using an ace:dateTimeEntry that I am rendering as a popup. It is on a form with another input button.

After the popup has been displayed, if I click the other input button, I see the following error:

SCRIPT5022: Missing instance data for this datepicker
ace-jquery.js.xhtml, line 230 character 10924

This only happens after the popup has been displayed, and it only occurs in IE. It doesn't happen in Chrome.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? It is preventing the button from working.

Thanks.

I'm back to investigating this error again. Here is my situation.

I have a page that contains:
1) An ace:dateTimeEntry component, configured to display as a popup.
2) An instance of uploadify (http://www.uploadify.com/). Basically, it's an instance of Adobe Flash that looks like a button.

After I display the dateTime popup, the Flash button no longer works, and I get the above error ("Missing instance data for this datepicker").

It looks like it has something to do with the document mousedown handler that ace:dateTimeEntry uses. When I click on the Flash button, the dateTimePicker method _checkExternalClick is being called, which calls _getInst, which throws an exception.

Is there a way for me to work around this?

Thanks.

Is there a dom diff generated after clicking on the data picker that might be interfering with the flash script or state? Try separating them in separate panelGroups so that a dom diff from the date picker doesn't include anything from the uploadify script and object.

I was able to fix the problem. I put a div around the uploadify button, and set a mousedown handler for that div. Inside the handler, I prevent the event from bubbling up to the document.
