I am currently basing a project on the "icefaces" example in Seam's CVS, which uses ICEfaces 1.5.1. However, my web application requires a scheduling calendar, and it looks like Tomahawk's schedule is the only one available.

Since I only need the Tomahawk schedule on one page containing no other ICEfaces components, can I use the just-ice.jar method from the 1.5.1 release?

Also, if the just-ice.jar method is valid, I assume that I would somehow change the file extension of the special Tomahawk only page so that it is not handled by the ICEfaces servlet. However, I am not sure how this is done, and I have not seen any concrete examples of this technique.

Therefore, how can I differentiate my Tomahawk only facelet's file, and what changes need to be made to my web.xml?

Thanks so much for your help!
Steve

P.S. I've seen several posts where individuals are unable to use ICEfaces because of existing dependencies on other frameworks. If a concrete example of using just-ice.jar is provided here, I think this will greatly alleviate the concerns that myself and others are having :)

Hi Steve,

I don't think the just-ice.jar is the way to go here. But you might be in luck using the Tomahawk schedule component in ICEfaces without it. I've just tested this with ICEfaces 1.5.1/MyFaces 1.1.4/Tomahawk 1.1.4 Snapshot and it's working nicely (although I haven't fully tested the component and the test case is just using the schedule by itself on an ICEfaces page). How this might behave along with Seam is a different story, as I'm sure you know;) But I'd say give it a try. I've attached the test case along with a build script.

Thanks,
Philip
