I noticed that if you put an actionlistener on a top level menu item with no sub items a spacer image is inserted while rendering making my menu look crappy. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a work around?

I've found the same issue...
just add an "icon="""

your ice:menuItem should be like this

Code:
<ice:menuItem value="myMenuItem" id="menuItem"
 				 	icon=""
 					actionListener="#{menuBar.myListener}" />

in my case It worked and fixed "the space"...

Well, if i just put icon="" I still get the space allocated for the icon. So i added a 1 pixel icon and then the space was gone. Thanks for the help

I agree this is not optimal but if you just create a 1 pixel icon and store that in with all your other web images then you can just always reference the same image.
