We use ICEfaces & Facelets,
since migration from ICEfaces 1.7.2 / 1.8 RC 2 to 1.8 release-version we get following exceptions (all css ressources are affected):

Servlet.service() for servlet Blocking Servlet threw exception
com.sun.facelets.FaceletException: Error Parsing /styling/tables.css: Error Traced[line: 1] Content is not allowed in prolog.

EDIT:
The exceptions are thrown only, if ice:outputStyle is used and the site contains some partial-submits.
If link rel="stylesheet" ... is used, there is no problem.
value has to be of type String,
for SelectMany-Components of type List<String>,

e.g.
private String value = "A"; (SelectItem-Key)
Code:
<ice:selectOneMenu value="#{Bean.value1}" partialSubmit="true" valueChangeListener="{Bean.valueChanged}">
   <f:selectItems value="#{Bean.items1}/>
 </ice:selectOneMenu>

Code:
<ice:selectOneMenu value="#{Bean.value2}">
   <f:selectItems value="#{Bean.items2}/>
 </ice:selectOneMenu>

// called after selection in I <-- partialSubmit
public void valueChanged(ValueChangeEvent e){
value1 = e.getNewValue();
// change value 2 or whatever
}
Try using one form first. A Action updates only the form containing it.
Developers view: using two steps is the natural solution for the problem, i´ve tried different ways: rendering outputResource after link clicked, central download button after selection from list, popup

User feedback:
"Bug: Downloads don´t start, if file is clicked", "two clicks are needed to download - never heard of usability ?", ... ;-)
The new component is a comfortable download solution,
but the bean.resource is even called for rendering.

It would be nice, if resource would not be called until the user clicked the link/button.
Actually, if you show a list of documents for download or have to generate a complex pdf on demand, the pages consumes a lot of unnessecarry cpu time / memory.

Look into icefaces-comps.jar, the package com.icesoft.faces.resources contains a messages.properties.
Search for the relevant entries, copy them to your own messages.properties, where you can overwrite them.
Hi,

create custom styleClasses for each tab - search in ICEfaces Xp.css for "Tabbed Pane Component classes", copy it and use 'Tabx' instead of 'icePnlTb'. There are a lot of classes to edit (TabOn, TabOver, TabOff) ...
you have a servlet-api.jar in both directories,
we had problems with ICEfaces 1.7 until the non-Tomcat servlet-api was removed
action requires a public void consulta() or public String ("JSF redirect") consulta() - method
