I've tried several ways to get the visible screen size into my beans so that I can work with them and give accordingly calculated width/height values back to my panelGroups!

Can any one give me a hint on how to successfully do that!

Thanks a lot!
I'm trying to customize the tree component which works fine except the tree_folder_open.gif and tree_folder_close.gif (maybe also the document.gif, didn't try that so far).

I created my own tree component images dir, the component takes all my individual images except the ones mentioned above??

Also tried to specify the images as parameters in the component itself. Same outcome, all except those few ones work?

Maybe you can take a look into it.
Thanks to your links I think I could already solve the problem!

I went back to a basic JSF project and got it running with adding jsp-2.0.jar and servlet-api.jar to WEB-INF/lib

Then I tried the same with a simple Icefaces 1.0 project with one backing bean and the basic configs from the new component suite. Also worked.

Now I'm putting back together our project piece by piece, so far everything works fine!

Thanks a lot
Got it!

Thanks a lot for the file!
Didn't even have time to thank you yet!

Could definitely make use of your workaround and now with beta 1.0 it works perfectly anyways.

Just wanted to congratulate you to Icefaces 1.0!!!

One can see that you put a lot of effort in new (very cool) features and in stabilizing the alpha releases.

All I tested so far worked very nicely!
It's fun to work with it and I'm looking forward to future development.

Best greetings
Hi Ted

We are currently working with SP14 because we had some trouble with SP16!

Some more logs I got on my tests:

Error occured in invoking event "contextInitialized()" on listener class org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener.

The error is: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/servlet/jsp/el/ELException

Exception id: [00FF6FF82B38004F0000001B00000AAC000411140DF7007A]

Processing HTTP request to servlet [Persistent Faces Servlet] finished with error.

The error is: java.lang.NullPointerException: null

Exception id: [00FF6FF82B3800460000001800000AAC00041113650DBB58]

Processing HTTP request to servlet [jsp] finished with error.

The error is: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.exceptions.WebServletException: Error in dispatching request to servlet [/gui.iface].

Exception id: [00FF6FF82B38005B0000004600000AAC000411136492903F]

So, that's all I got. Hope that gives you any clues.
Thanks for the links so far.

Our project is up and running on Tomcat 5.0

Now we need to deploy the project on our J2EE Server (SAP WebApplicationServer 6.40)

We tried several different configurations but always get the following WARNING and ERROR as we call the application (index.jsp leads to gui.iface):

Warning occurred on server 3676050 during update sap.com/CasablancaWebGuiAP : Initialization of servlet [Faces Servlet] failed. Check the init() method of the servlet. Error is: [java.lang.IllegalStateException: No Factories configured for this Application - typically this is because a context listener is not setup in your web.xml.
A typical config looks like this;
< listener>
< listener-class>org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener< /listener-class>
< /listener>

Processing HTTP request to servlet [jsp] finished with error.

The error is: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.exceptions.WebServletException: Error in dispatching request to servlet [/gui.iface].

Exception id: [00FF6FF82B38004A0000003A00000AAC00041112C99B3FEB]

It can't just be the listener as it is already integrated in web.xml

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is crucial to get the application running on our J2EE server!

Thanks in advance.
Thanks Patrick, you're a saint!!

Works perfectly!
Hi there

Is there a way to render the value of a commandLink with another component, let's say an outputText?
I've tried a couple of components but they were not rendered at all?

I need it because I want a padding-top on the text of the link and if I put it on the commandLink itself it doesn't work correctly. I've tried it without JSF, using a styled < a> with a < h2> tag inside, works fine!

Any hints?
Hi there

I'm working with the panelStack component to choose my main page content which works fine.

By default and even if I give the panelStack a css-Stylesheet with "padding:0px;margin:0px;border:0" there still is a 2px border on each side!?

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it, cause it really messes up my design works.

Hi guys!

Is there any icefaces roadmap available or can you tell me when Icefaces 0.3.2 will be released?

The tabChangeListener works nicely and I can definitely use it for some of the funcionality I need. Thanks a lot!

I still have problems with the positioning and sizing though. The < ice: panelGroup> renders as a span element! so I can't give it sizing or positioning information.

How can I get the < ice: panelGroup> to render as a < div>?

At first it seemed to work with the new parameter! It the doctype def "alive" after the page reload! But I don't know what I did, it is not working anymore although the web.xml parameter is set to true!?

Although another problem occured anyways. After reloading the page the first event that was triggered (e.g. clicking a link or selecting a branch in the treeview) has no effect at all!??

On the tree component even the treeselectionaction was accessed and ran through fine but still the click had no effect! the mouse cursor kept being the hour glass and nothing more happened.
After clicking a second time, even if it is on the same link, the events worked fine again!?

Any ideas why that was happening?

Hi Greg

I think you got me right! What I am trying to achieve is to call a JS function after the newly called content of a tab is already inserted into the DOM.

Purpose is the flexible sizing and positioning of div tags that are content of one of the tabs in the panelTab, thus not available before the iceSubmit is entirely processed.

So I need to make sure that my JS function is called after iceSubmit is finished and not during. Of course any alternative way is fine too!

Maybe it would be better to accept server communication and letting a managed been get the job done? Means sizing the divs or icefaces components through a method?
Any thoughts on that!

Hope you have all the info you need. Thnx!
