Other Compression Strategies
As of ICEfaces 3.1, the built in gzip compression is turned off by default. It's recommended that gzip compression be handled outside of ICEfaces in a more consistent fashion. Read the section on Resource Compression for more details.
Application Scope

Before ICEfaces 3.1

By default, ICEfaces will gzip compress certain resource responses - namely compat component resources that are served via the CompatResourceServlet and ACE or application resources registered using one of the applicable methods in the ResourceRegistry (e.g. addSessionResource). Setting org.icefaces.compressedResources to false instructs ICEfaces to not compress any resources.

ICEfaces 3.1 and Beyond

By default, ICEfaces will not gzip compress any resource responses. Setting org.icefaces.compressedResources to true instructs ICEfaces to compress certain resources - namely compat component resources that are served via the CompatResourceServlet and ACE or application resources registered using one of the applicable methods in the ResourceRegistry (e.g. addSessionResource).
