I'm creating an application with multiple facets (using panelBorder), and want the user to be able to click on a "frame" of a window to resize it--just like one can resize the frame areas at http://java.sun.com/javaee/javaserverfaces/1.1/docs/api/index.html (the frames version). I've searched through the forums, as well as googled for various combinations of "jsf form frame resize drag", etc., with no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi Arno,

The ICEfaces Panel Border is rendered as an HTML table, so it's not currently possible for the user to dynamically arrange the layout. The pages of the Java docs that you refer to are made from simple HTML frames. Would using HTML frames work for you?

Thanks,
Philip

I could probably do something with an HTML table....consider this a request for ICEFaces to support resizable frames! :-)

Arno,

Hello, just wanted to let you know that I've added this request to the ICEfaces roadmap for consideration in future releases.

Thanks for your input!

We used dojo, which worked very well until we started using more of their components like the TabContainer to get around the nested forms problem with ICEFaces' tabs. I think you should be able to use their resizable frames without many problems if you don't need to dynamically change it based on your app's state. If you do, you'll have to use JavaScript, which we couldn't get to work when we did our server push.
