Hi all

is there a possibilities to attach a graphic icon (such as warning icon) beside any PanelTab Label?

The reason is we needs to design a multiple PanelTab form with a set of require feilds (input text, options, pulldown) located at different PanelTab, whenever user switch tab from PanelTab with require field, I needs to attach an error icon beside the panelTab if require fields is not filled by user. Thus user could go back to previous panelTab..if needed..

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Hi James,

It isn't currently possible to insert an image with the panel tab label. It's not as flashy, but you could simply update the label itself, eg. "Tab A" -> "Tab A (error)", or you could use status indicators outside of the Panel Tab Set that correspond to each tab, eg. "Step 1: completed", "Step 2: error", etc.

Thanks,
Philip

Hi Philip

Thanks for fast response..I will try ur suggestion. So the steps are:
1 I needs to figure a way to capture TabChangeEvent occurs, and
2. Do some business validations, if require fields is no filled, change the tab lable.

Correct? Do u have any sample code on doing the above?

Cheers and Thanks

Hi James,

Check out this thread: http://support.icesoft.com/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=3040 for hints on how to implement a TabChangeListener.

Thanks,
Philip

James,

FYI. I've added this feature request for icons in panelTab labels to the ICEfaces roadmap for consideration in future releases.

Thanks for your input!

Hello,

Regarding PanelTab , Modal Dialog Boxes and TabChangeListener I have a problem.

The Modal Dialog Box does not seem to display when I switch tabs should we have individual Modal dialog boxes for every panelTab tag?

The tabChangeListener event gets fired. And Initially the Modal Dialog gets Displayed, if i set the visibility in the constructor of the backing bean default true, subsequently it does not get displayed when I switch between tabs although the event gets fired. any help is greatly appreciated.

Thnx

Hi Raj,

Sorry, I'm not clear on exactly how you're using the Panel Tab Set and Modal Dialogs. Is the dialog not modal until the user clicks a tab, that is, are you trying to set the dialog modal on a tab change? Could you elaborate on this?

Thanks,
Philip
