the attached pdf document contains screenshot. With the viewer ri (6.3-snapshot and 6.2.1, both OS) these images weren't rendered sharp. I tried to optimize rendering with the system property "org.icepdf.core.imageReference" (both inside the viewer ri through the preferences and inside our own application) and also with "org.icepdf.core.screen.render" but without success.
Do you have any suggestions how to improve the quality of image rendering (Adobe Reader shows sharp images, so it should be principally possible).
Outside of the system property org.icepdf.core.imageReference there isn't much else we have to improve image quality. If the images are large enough "smoothScaled" usually produces the best results. However if the images are larger then 7000x7000 we don't scale to save memory.
We have the viewer ri embedded in our application (Java 1.8.0_131, Windows 7 Enterprise SP1), but I also opened the document directly with viewer ri (6.3-snapshot, OS).
The appearance of the document is identical in both cases and changes of "Preferences/Imaging/Image Reference Type" didn't make any difference.
Thanks, I'll take a closer look for you and see if we can adjust anything on our end. Most of the image references config options were intended for black and white images. I"ll get back to you tomorrow.
