Is there a way to use inputFile to upload a file into memory on the server, rather then having to store it as a file? I'd like to let a user upload a save file to my server, but there is no need to keep it on the server once I have read the contents. Is this possible?

I've done this before with Struts, and I'm hoping it can be done with ICEfaces, and/or jsf.

Hi,

You could do this, but you'd have to customize the FileUploadServlet.SaveFile() method to write to a buffer instead of a file.

Thanks,
Philip

Hi,
I am having the same issue. I looked at the FileUploadServlet API and there doesn't seem to be a saveFile() method listed.

Can you please elaborate, as our requirement is such that we cannot save the uploaded (Excel) file to disc before processing.

Thx
