ICEfaces v1.6.0 DR#4 is a Development Build that provides an early-access preview of new features, enhancements, and fixes that will be included in the upcoming ICEfaces v1.6.0 release. This build has only been lightly tested and should be considered unstable - it is unsuitable for Production use.

Please read the ReleaseNotes.html included in the release bundle for details on new features, known issues, and other notes. See the JIRA Change Log for the complete list of new features and fixes included in this release.

If you have comments, suggestions, or problems related to using the Development Build please post them in the new Development Build Feedback forum.

Also note that with the 1.6 DR#4 release new versions of the ICEfaces Tool Integration bundles are also available for download.

For the 1.6 release we are separating the ICEfaces tool integrations from the ICEfaces runtime libraries, so you won't need to update your tool integrations for every ICEfaces version release going forward. The tool integrations will be revised on their own separate roadmaps.

For most tools (e.g. Eclipse-based) you'll be able to configure the tool integration to use whichever ICEfaces installation you like (works with the standard ICEfaces binary distribution bundle). However, certain tools will require the use of tool-specific ICEfaces runtime libraries or complibs which must be downloaded and installed for each ICEfaces release (NetBeans, JDeveloper). The intention is to make it easier and more flexible for ICEfaces tool integration users to use different ICEfaces versions for different projects in the same IDE, and it also helps reduce the workload that we need to complete for each ICEface patch release.

You can get them here.

Regards,
Ken
