Generally speaking, if you are seeing sporadic NCI popups when using push/asynchronous mode it is due to something in the network infrastructure that is either killing the push connections prematurely or possibly stripping out required header parameters.

You might try adjusting some of the ICEpush configuration parameters to see if it helps.

For example:

org.icepush.networkErrorRetryTimeouts - (since 4.1, EE 3.3.0.GA_P04) A space separated list of integer heartbeat timeout multiplication factors. A network error is detected when the bridge does not receive a response in the amount of time resulted from multiplying the first factor in the list with the current heartbeat timeout. Once a network error is detected new connection is initiated, if again no response is received the second multiplying factor is used and so on. Once the end of the list is reached the bridge will give up trying to establish the connection, and an Network Connection Interrupted (NCI) message will be displayed (unless disabled). The default value is 1 1 1 2 2 3.

See: http://www.icesoft.org/wiki/display/PUSH/ICEpush+Configuration+Parameters for the complete list.

I would also strongly recommend using the ICEfaces EE 3.3 release to ensure you have the latest fixes, etc. if you are still on the 3.3.0 open source release.

Regards,
Ken
Hi,

ICEfaces 4.3 should be available in the public maven repositories as well now, as of several weeks ago.

Regards,
Ken
We're giving 4.3 open source a bit of soak time before EE 4.3 will be available. Roughly EE 4.3.0 should release in Q4 sometime.

Regards,
Ken

Please post any issues, comments, or suggestions related to ICEfaces 4.3 in the ICEfaces forums.
  • Hi,

The ace:submitMonitor does not change the cursor itself, as you have observed.

The only way to have the cursor change during a pending ajax request in ICEfaces 4.x would be to use the "blockUIOnSubmit" configuration param instead of the ace:submitMonitor.

    See http://www.icesoft.org/wiki/display/ICE/blockUIOnSubmit for details.

    Ken

    Hi,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing a problem.

We have verified that we cannot see an issue using the ICEfaces EE 1.8.2.GA_P09 release (most recent commercial release of the 1.8.2 codebase) on any browser.

It is possible that you are seeing a bug that has been fixed since the 1.8.2 open source release. Here is a list of all the ice:selectInputText fixes and improvements made between the 1.8.2 open source release and the latest EE 1.8.2.GA_P09 commercial release.

    Regards,
    Ken

If you are using the open source ICEfaces 3.3.0 release, then you should use whichever mode works best for you. That release is unsupported.

Alternatively, you could use the ICEfaces EE 3.3.0.GA_P04 release, which has official support for IE11 (and Edge as well).

    See http://www.icesoft.org/wiki/display/ICE/ICEfaces+EE+3.3.0.GA_P04+Release+Notes

Using the EE release requires a commercial subscription.

    Regards,
    Ken
    Hi,

This functionality is available in the ICEfaces 4.2 (or ICEfaces EE 4.1) ace:fileEntry component. You can see it in action here: http://icefaces-showcase.icesoft.org/showcase.jsf?grp=ace:fileEntry

Note that files can be dropped on the "Add Files" button, in addition to opening a file selection dialog and selecting multiple files.

Unfortunately, the multiple file upload feature isn't available in ICEfaces EE 3.3.

If you are a supported ICEfaces EE customer, you may contact support to inquire about the possibility of backporting this feature to a future ICEfaces EE 3.3.0.GA patch release, etc.

    Regards,
    Ken
    Hi,

Unfortunately it looks like we have a bug that is causing the incorrect ace:accordionPane to be activated when you click on a nested ace:accordion. We're created a new JIRA for this that you can follow here: http://jira.icesoft.org/browse/ICE-11282

As a workaround you could use collapsible ace:panel's inside an ace:accordion instead of nesting the accordions.

To expand or collapse the entire ace:accordion you can use the collapsible='true' attribute (http://res.icesoft.org/docs/v4_latest/ace/tld/).

    Regards,
    Ken
